According to the latest reports, Apple could begin mass production of the long-rumored iPhone 9 (previously known as iPhone SE 2) next month.
APPLE IPHONE 9 IS ALLEGEDLY READY FOR MASS PRODUCTION, IS IT LAUNCHING IN MARCH?
The same reports also suggest that the new device is targeted at the “low-end” price segment and mainly dedicated to emerging markets such as the Indian. The smartphone could cost as low as $430 while its appearance should remind us of the Apple iPhone 8. The rebadged design is also probably why the iPhone 9 will be this “affordable”.
Now, according to industry insiders, if there everything goes as smoothly as expected, we could see Apple releasing the new phone in March. There are indeed factories in China such as Foxconn getting ready for the mass production of the next iPhone.
APPLE’S NEW PHONE TO ADOPT THE SAME DESIGN AS IPHONE 8
So, what do we know about the iPhone 9 thus far? As we previously mentioned, the handset should look exactly like an iPhone 8. It should pack a 4.7-inch screen and provide a Home / Touch ID fingerprint scanner below it. We could still see some minor changes in the overall design though. For example, we could see a black glass back cover with a matte finish; this would make it around 0.5mm thicker than the older iPhone 8.
The iPhone 9 should then boast the Apple A13 processor and get iOS support for a good number of years; a reason that may turn some Android users. Finally, its pricing will be a very important factor for either its success or demise. Many suggest that it should cost less than $430 for it to make sense and attract users, more than that and it’ll fail.
