Huawei Could Launch Mate Xs In Q3 2020
Although Huawei’s first 5G foldable phone – the Mate X – has been out for months, it’s still difficult to find the device online. In addition to that, the company already announced the Huawei Mate Xs is coming next year as an upgraded version of the Mate X, with better screen and hinges; we expect to see this device at MWC 2020.
HUAWEI MATE X SECOND GENERATION COMING IN Q3 2020
Well, new reports coming from China suggest that Huawei will launch the second-generation Mate X foldable phone in the second half of next year. With hinge and panel suppliers already working to begin mass production of the new components. We also know that the company rumored to be a supplier for the hinges is Jarllytec.
Huawei will then cooperate with another Chinese smartphone manufacturer. However, as the complexity and reliability of the components needs to be further tested, the company did not disclose its capacity plans explicitly.
So, from what we know this far, the second-generation Mate X may launch next year with the Mate 40 series. A smart move as they could use the next Huawei Kirin 1000 series on both product lines; adding 5G connectivity natively.
Finally, according to an earlier report, the Kirin 1020 code-named Baltimore has almost locked in the use of TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing process; which can improve performance by up to 50% compared to Kirin 990. The CPU architecture will also be upgraded from Cortex A76 to Cortex A78; going ahead of Qualcomm still using Cortex A77 cores on their latest Snapdragon 865
